Here’s your final Athletes of the Week for the 2017-2018 school year for the week ending May 29th, 2018:

Your Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is junior track and field athlete, Jamonny Skinner. Jamonny brought home two medals from the three events he took part in at the Class 2A State Championships. He placed 7th in the long jump and 9th in the triple jump. His leap of 43′ 6.5″ in the triple jump also broke the school record in that event.

Your United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is sophomore softball player, Kaylee Cornell. Kaylee was named to the Lincoln Trail All-Conference softball team last week. She led her team in batting average for the season at .442. Kaylee also tied for the team lead in extra-base hits with 15, including blasting six home runs and eight doubles.

Your West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is freshman softball player, Mady Reed. Mady was named to the Lincoln Trail All-Conference first team in her first season of varsity softball for the Heat. She hit nearly .500 for the season, while leading the team in hits, triples, stolen bases and runs scored out of the lead-off spot in the batting order.

Your A-Town Tornado Athlete of the Week is junior track and field athlete, Jay Allbright. Jay ended his track season with a trip to the Class 1A state finals in Charleston. He competed in the 100 meter dash after winning the same event at the Knoxville Sectional meet.

Your Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is sophomore baseball player, Conner Aten. Conner saved his best baseball for the postseason as he picked up a pitching win against Limestone in the regional semi-finals. He also had a great tournament at the plate as well, going 4-for-7, scoring three runs and smashing a home run and triple in the two games his team played.
