Former Galesburg High School Baseball Standout Cody Hawthorne Gets Drafted by Texas Rangers

Cody Hawthone, Parkland College Baseball

Former Galesburg High School 2-sport star and current baseball pitcher at Parkland College, Cody Hawthorne was selected in the 21st round of the major league baseball draft by the Texas Rangers. Hawthorne was a part of Parkland’s NJCAA national tournament runnerup team this past spring. Parkland was (51-16-1) overall, falling to LSU-Eunice in the championship series finale. Should Hawthorne sign a pro contract, he would be the first former Silver Streak since Chad Johnson signed with the Kansas City Royals in 2012.
