Silvie's Ride 2018: Benefit for Children at WIRC Victim Services

Share

Diane Mayfield, Director of WIRC Victim Services, shared details about Silvie’s Ride that is taking place this Saturday June 16th starting at the Elk’s Club in Macomb, IL:

“It’s called Silvie’s ride and this is in honor of a little girl Silven Yocum, and back in 2006 when she was just 5 years old she was the victim of fatal child abuse. She was murdered, and in the subsequent years her family has decided that they wanted to do something in her honor, in her memory that would benefit other children that were also experiencing or had witnessed some form of abuse in their home or child abuse,” stated Mayfield.

Registration for the event will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the Elk’s Club with breakfast being served from 7 to 10 a.m. The event is open to the public and is just $20 and $5 per passenger to join in and help benefit the children at WIRC victim services. The ride will cover about 50 miles, ending back at the Elk’s Club for a dinner, silent auction, and a $100 drawing.
