Year Full of Achievements for Monmouth-Roseville Athletics

The 2017-18 school year is over, but it was a year full of achievements for the athletics programs in District 238. The high school volleyball, wrestling, and baseball teams captured conference championships; Riley Dulin, Arika Hofmann, and Jamonny Skinner clinched trips to state in both cross country and track; and the soccer team captivated Titan Nation with a 2nd place run at state.

Athletic Director Jeremy Adolphson praised the talent level of athletes in the district, referencing the amount of multi-sport athletes he gets to coach on the football team.

“I think the key to our program right now is, the basketball team, the wrestling team, the baseball and the track team that I talk about – essentially, if you start for us, if you play football for us – you’re a part of one of those programs. I don’t even think there is an exception, which I think is pretty cool,” he said.

A large amount of success was also seen at the Jr. High level. Both the 7th and 8th grade boys basketball teams came up one game short of state; the boys track team sent six boys to state with Omar Carrillo setting a school record in the 800; and the girls track team had a total of nine girls qualify for state. Chevelle Wolf set a new school record in the 200, and the 7th grade 4 x 100 meter relay team also set a school record.

Congratulations to District 238 on a very successful school year – both in academics and athletics!
