Spray Park Introduced to Celebrate Monmouth Rotary's 100th Year

Tomorrow marks the grand opening of the Monmouth Rotary Spray Park at Pattee Park. The project is being introduced in conjunction with the centennial celebration of service for the community for the Monmouth Rotary Club. Chris Gavin with the Rotary Club gives details on the project:

“The project is about a $170,000 project in total. The Rotary Club has been super; we had nearly 100 percent participation to help fund this project. The Rotary Club is going to raise around $55,000 of this, and we received a grant from the Pattee Foundation. The Monmouth Park District is contributing as well. Plus we see the corporate gifts from Midwest Bank and Security Savings Bank, so it has been a real community effort here,” he said.

A ribbon cutting will be held at 9 a.m. followed by the official opening of the Spray Park at 10 a.m. Gavin says the Spray Park will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day, and will be open from Memorial Day through Labor Day in the subsequent years.
