The Warren County Fair’s carnival opens for the first time tonight. It will be discount ticket night from 6 to 9 p.m. $10 will get you five ride tickets. President of the Warren County Fair, Jeff Jensen, is excited to get all the festivities going, and hopes the rain stays away:

“Our focus is on the youth and on agriculture, and providing a nice way for the community to come out and spend some time together and see everyone,” he said.

Thursday night will be Armband Night; bands will be $15, and rides will be open from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday also marks the start of three consecutive nights of derby action and beer garden entertainment at the Fair.

The Figure 8 Demo Derby starts at 7 p.m. on Thursday as part of the Western Illinois Figure 8 Racing Series. The Scat Grub Band headlines the Entertainment Tent that night. Friday, the regular Demo Derby takes place at 7 p.m. followed by Eternity Road in the Entertainment Tent. And Saturday, the Finals of the Figure 8 Demo Derby will take place at 5 p.m., and Patrick N’ Swayze will finish the week in the Entertainment Tent.
