Volleyball

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan volleyball team hosted the Macomb Bombers at the Shoebox in Monmouth. In what normally would’ve been a West Central Conference North Division matchup, it was considered a non-conference match. The addition of Quincy Notre Dame to the conference has adjusted the division schedule. Now, the second matchup between Monmouth-Roseville, Quincy Notre Dame, West Hancock, Camp Point Central and Macomb are the only ones that will count towards crowing a champion. This was the first meeting between the Bombers and Titans. Too bad for the Bombers, as they earned a 25-23, 25-18 win last night. Delaney Woodard had 12 points and seven assists for the Titans to lead in those stat categories. Carly Gillen had nine kills and Camryn Jones led in digs with eight. Lael McKee had eight kills, Avery Rexroat had 16 assists and Maggie Vallillo had 11 digs to lead Macomb in those stats. Macomb is now (12-4) on the season, while the Titans dropped to (11-4).

The West Central Heat beat West Hancock 25-19, 25-11 to improve their overall record to (4-2). Corinne Booton had 13 kills, 5 digs, and 2 blocks for the Heat. Her teammates, Lacey Bigger had 4 digs and Jessica Smith had 12 assists.

It was Knoxville Blue Bullets over Mercer County 25-18, 25-23 in non-conference play in Aledo. Hannah Jones led the Blue Bullets, now (8-3) on the season, with eight kills and two aces. Alis Bickell made 13 digs and Makayla Benson dished out 10 assists for Knoxville.

The Monmouth-Roseville boys golf team beat both United and Knoxville in a triangular meet at Gibson Woods Golf Course in Monmouth. The Titans are now (4-6) on the season. Aaron Blindt was the meet medalist with a 39 to lead Mon-Rose, who shot a team score of 172. Nick Corman chipped in with a 41. United was led by Drew Brown’s 46 and totaled 204 and Knoxville’s Jacob Betz’s 47 led the Blue Bullets, who shot a team score of 213.

The Knoxville girls placed 5th as a team and had two girls on the All-Conference list as Kaci and Kyli Luptak finished 9th and 10th individually. Rushville-Industry is the conference champ as their total of 444 was 27 shots better than Havana. Grace Johnson of Havana is the individual champ, shooting a 94 for the day.

Tennis

The Galesburg Silver Streak girls tennis team got their first win of the season, beating Peoria Christian 6-2 at home at Art Fish Courts yesterday. Swimming and Diving

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan girls swimmers were in Macomb last night for a triangular meet against the host Bombers and Washington High School. Even though the Titans field just four total swimmers, they only lost to Macomb by a score of 73-45. They were also outscored by Washington 106-31. Picking up nice finishes for Monmouth-Roseville was Cally Tate with a 2nd place finish in the 100 yard backstroke and a 3rd place finish in the 50 yard freestyle. Abby Sikorski was 3rd in the 100 yard Butterfly and Ashlynn Quinn was 3rd in the 200 yard Intermediate race. Those 3 combined with Kena McCance to get 3rd place finishes in the 200 yard medley 400 yard freestyle relays.
