On today’s local sports schedule.

The Monmouth-Roseville 7th and 8th grade football teams traveled to Joy, Illinois last night for a makeup game against Mercer County. Monmouth-Roseville answered an opening touchdown drive by Mercer County with an electrifying 70 yard touchdown on the ensuing kickoff. Mer Co answered with a 2nd quarter scoring drive to take a 16-8 lead. Monmouth-Roseville answered again with a 40 yard touchdown run by Jaylen Tuitt but the 2-pt conversion was stopped by the Golden Eagle defense.
