Golf

The Western Big Six Conference held its boys and girls golf championships at Westview Golf Course in Quincy yesterday. Galesburg’s Kirsten Osborn earned the individual title with a great round of 76. The Silver Streaks placed 2nd as a team, with a total of 410. The hosts, Quincy Blue Devils, shot a 320 and claimed the team championship. Joining Osborn in the scoring quartet was Halle Madjich with a 107, Kaylee Allen shot a 110 and Kelsi Kleine carded a 117. The Silver Streak boys were 5th as a team, shooting a team score of 353. Quincy and Alleman tied for the team championship, with both schools shooting a 320. Justin Endthoff led Galesburg with an 80. His teammates, Lucas Watson, Luke Bradburn and Grant Foster carded an 81, a 93 and a 99 respectively.

Volleyball

The Galesburg Silver Streak varsity lost at Orion. The Streaks fall 25-19, 25-18 to the Chargers and are now (9-11). The Chargers are (16-2) on the season. Leading Galesburg was Kylie Fike and Kelsi Legge each had four kills. Maddie Carlson dished out eight assists and Brynn Atwell and Sam Rogers made six digs apiece.

Knoxville beat Farmington 25-9, 20-25, 25-7 in Prairieland Conference North Division action. The Blue Bullets are (3-0) in division play. Farmington falls to (1-3).

In non-conference action last night, Macomb beat BPC 25-6, 25-7. Avery Rexroat filled up the stat sheet for Macomb, serving for 16 points, including five aces, and had 15 assists. Maggie Vallillo hustled her way to 12 digs and Jocelyn Buchannan and Autumn Kindhart each smashed five kills.

Cross Country

The Prairieland Conference held its Cross Country championship meet in Farmington. The Knoxville High School girls earned the team championship on the strength of having three girls finish 1-2-3. Breena Shreeves was first, with Bailey Harris 2nd and Mackenzie Rader 3rd. Abingdon-Avon’s Natalie Kern was 14th. The Knoxville boys were runnersup to Elmwood for the guys title. Christian Hensley was an All-Conference selection for Knoxville, placing 5th.

Swimming and Diving

The Galesburg Silver Streak girls swimming and diving team beat United Township 115-71 at Mustain Pool in Galesburg yesterday. Getting victories for the Streaks were Ari Bailey in the 1 meter diving competition and Sophie Lotz in the 100 yard breaststroke race. Double winners included Lauren Pio in the 100 and 200 yard freestyle events and Hailey Glasnovich in the 100 yard backstroke and 200 IM. Haley Cox touched the wall first in the 100 yard butterfly as well. The Galesburg 200 freestyle, 200 yard medley and 400 yard freestyle relay teams also finished first.

Soccer

The Galesburg High School varsity boy soccer team fell to United Township 3-1 in Western Big Six Conference action at Van Dyke Field on the Galesburg High School campus.
