On Saturday, October 6th, at 10:00 am in the Warren County History Museum, three highly accomplished alumni will be inducted into the Monmouth-Roseville Hall of Achievement, and one area citizen will receive a Distinguished Service Award.

Tammy Wolbers, Ronald G. Moore, and Jill Miller Denning have been named to the Hall of Achievement. Beth Reedy will be honored with Distinguished Service Award.

The induction ceremony is free and open to the public. A brief reception, hosted by the Educational Foundation, will be held at the history museum after the induction ceremony. Entertainment will be provided by the music department of the school.

The Hall of Achievement recognition program was made possible through a donation to the Monmouth-Roseville Educational Foundation by the Ralph Whiteman family in 1992, and it is dedicated to the memory of his mother, Lucille Whiteman, who was once a one-room country school teacher.

The purpose of the Hall of Achievement is not only to recognize the accomplishments of the honorees, but also to honor the teachers and administrators whose dedication, motivation, and inspiration helped make their success possible. The Distinguished Service Award honors individuals who provide exemplary service to the students of the district.

Following are brief summaries of the 2018 honorees.

TAMMY WOLBERS is 1997 graduate of Monmouth High School and currently lives in the New York City area. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee

After graduation she was employed by the Deutsche Bank in Nashville before moving to New York in 2003. Ms. Wolbers is currently a Vice-President at the Bank of New York Mellon, where she specializes in global client services.

In addition to her client services management, she has also been active in the bank’s Community Partnership Program as a volunteer with numerous charities including Big Brothers/Big Sisters, the Workplace Mentoring Program, the Ronald McDonald House, and the Schneider Children’s Hospital

As a result of her community involvement, Tammy was selected to ring the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange in commemoration of BNY Mellon’s 225th anniversary.

RONALD G. MOORE is a 1974 graduate of Roseville High School and currently lives with his wife Deborah in rural Roseville on the farm where he was raised. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri.

In addition to actively farming, Mr. Moore has served the agricultural community in numerous capacities. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of the American Soybean Association and is a past chairman of the board of the Illinois Soybean Association.

More locally, he has served as past president of the Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau Board of Directors, past president of the Warren County Agricultural Fair Board, past chairman of the Warren County Ag Extension and member of the Riverland FS Cooperative Board.

Ron is a member of the Tri-County Cattleman, the Illinois Beef Association, the Illinois Corn Growers, and the National Corn Growers

From a community standpoint, Mr. Moore has been on the Roseville Community Unit School District Board, the Carl Sandburg College Foundation Board, the Community Medical Center Board, and the Community National Bank Board.

In addition, Mr. Moore spent 36 years on the Warren County Zoning Board of Appeals, including 30 years as board chair and is an active member of the First United Methodist Church.

Ron and his wife have 3 sons, Steven, Michael, and Brian.

JILL MILLER DENNING is a 1987 graduate of Monmouth High School and currently resides in Raleigh, North Carolina. After graduation she attended the University of Illinois in Champaign and received a degree in Agricultural Communication, inspired by her work as editor of the Monmouth High School newspaper, The Clipper.

After college, Ms. Denning relocated to North Carolina and held several communications related positions at non-profit agencies, government agencies, a public relation firm and as spokesperson for the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority. While there she obtained master’s degrees from North Carolina State University in both Technical Communications and Public Administration.

In 2007, Jill was selected for a spot in the elite Presidential Management Fellowship Program to train for a leadership position with the federal government. After her two year fellowship, she began working for the General Services Administration Office of Governmental Policy.

Ms. Denning is currently the Per Diem Program Manager with the office, overseeing travel and transportation reimbursement for federal employees totaling over 3 Billion dollars per year.

She also serves as Vice-President of the North Carolina State Public Administration Alumni Society and is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Raleigh.

BETH REEDY of Monmouth is being honored with the Distinguished Service Award. She is a 1974 graduate of Yorkwood High School and received a degree from Illinois State University before beginning her teaching career with the Monmouth School System

She has taught both 3rd grade at Harding and 1st grade at Lincoln and is being recognized for her extremely active volunteer work with the school system.

In addition to helping with her own children’s school activities, she has announced at basketball, football, wrestling, volleyball and track events. Ms. Reedy has also operated the scoreboard for wrestling, volleyball, and basketball and kept statistics for football.

Beth has been a member of the Monmouth-Roseville Foundation Board and the Foundation Advisory Board where she has volunteered her time in numerous activities sponsored by the Foundation, including the Garden Walk and has chaired the foundation golf fund raiser.

Ms. Reed is married to Bob Reedy and they have two children, Katy Aranda of Mt. Pleasant and Ross Reedy of Wataga, Illinois, along with 7 grandchildren
