New Bridgeway Services

Bridgeway in Galesburg has recently been awarded a grant by the state of Illinois for two new programs. One will focus on substance abuse. Stacy Brown, Vice President of Behavioral Health Services, discusses the goal of the program:

“Pull together people from the community to really focus on substance use in our area. The grant covers Henderson, Warren, Henry, and Knox County, so it will be very large. We want representation from all areas and not just areas that work in this field. Not just people from Bridgeway and people from local organization who do social service and deal with these issues. We want people from businesses, community members, and people with lived experiences. We want everybody to be a part of it,” Brown shares.

The second program is a system of care to assist children and families in our communities. Brown describes more details:

“We are already in process of putting this system together. We call it a ‘no wrong door system’. If a child presents to a primary care office and in doing an assessment that primary care physician determines they need some type of health service or the family needs something in order to stabilize their lives. Whether it be food, shelter, something like that. We are all going to be sitting at one table,” states Brown.

The kickoff meeting for all involved will happen towards the end of the month. If you would like to be involved, call Stacy at 344-2323.
