Annual Election Period (AEP) for Medicare Now through December 7

Share

The Annual Election Period (AEP) for Medicare is happening now. This allows those seniors that may not have enrolled when they were first eligible to now have a chance to sign up or change up their Medicare plans. Local Insurance Agent Sean Stevens shares why this time is important:

“Gives the seniors a chance to review their prescription program. It is a very necessary thing to do because prescriptions change, companies change what is covered, and pharmacies change. It is a good thing to sit down and review,” Stevens states.

Changes that can be made now through December 7th include, switching from an original Medicare program to a Medicare Advantage plan and vise versa, enroll in a Part D prescription plan, or opting out of your Medicare Part D plan.

Changes made during the AEP period will go into effect on January 1st.

To review your Medicare plans, contact your insurance agent or Strom Center.
