Blessings in a Backpack

Share

United School District is continuing thier Blessings in a Backpack program, which has been in the district for nearly 10 years. Co-chair Diane Carver explains how the program works:

“Blessings in a Backpack is a Nationwide organization and we feed the children on the weekends when they might not have food. Every weekend they are given a grocery sack full of food and it is put into their backpacks discretely so other students do not know who is receiving the blessings,” states Carver.

Some United Jr. High students have a special hand in this program as they help to pack the items for the Blessings.

Donations can be made through the United High School, 1905 100th Street in Monmouth.
