Here’s the WMOI/WRAM/WAIK Athletes of the Week for the week ending Nov. 18th, 2018:
 
The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is junior girls basketball player, Carly Gillen. Carly started her season with an All-Tournament Team performance at the Ridgewood Thanksgiving Tourament. She averaged over 16 points a game, including 23 in the final game of her team’s run to a 3rd place finish.
 
The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior girls basketball player, Carly Thompson. Carly got her final high school season off to a nice start with a great performance at the Ridgewood Thanksgiving Tournament. She averaged nearly 10 points a contest and was also second on the team in rebounding for the five games during the week.
 
The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is junior girls basketball player, Carley Lafary. Carley garnered double figures in scoring in two of the Heat’s games during the ROWVA Cranberry Classic Tournament in Oneida. She helped her team to a record of (2-1) for week, which resulted in a runnerup finish in the tournament.
 
The A-Town Tornado Athlete of the Week is sophomore girls basketball player, Emily Wilson. Emily scored the game-winning points in the final two games of her team’s run to a ROWVA Cranberry Classic Tournament championship. Her basket with 1.8 seconds left beat Mercer County and then her bucket with under a minute to defeated West Central in the title game.
 
The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week, presented by Toyota, is sophomore girls basketball player, Riley Jenkins. Riley put together back-to-back 12 point games during the Galesburg Thanksgiving Tournament, getting her first full year of varsity basketball off to a great start. Among those points, was 3 shots from beyond the 3-point arc. She averaged nearly ten points a game during the Streaks (2-1) start to the season.
