Here’s the WMOI/WRAM/WAIK Athletes of the Week for the week ending Nov. 25th, 2018:
The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Jamonny Skinner. Jamonny was placed on the Orion Tip-Off Classic All-Tournament team for his performance in the Titan’s run to a tournament championship. He averaged 11 points in the four games for the week, including a high of 17 in the opening game against Erie-Prophetstown.
The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is sophomore boys basketball player, Declan Flynn. Declan averaged nearly 15 points a game during the Red Storm’s first four games of the season at the ROWVA/Williamsfield Invitational Tournament. His 23 points against ROWVA/Wiilliamsfield, included five, 3-pointers. Declan made a total of eleven 3’s during United’s four games last week.
The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Bradon Annegars. Bradon averaged over 15 points in the Heat’s first four games in the ROWVA/Willliamsfield Invitational Tournament. Included in that total was five, 3-pointers. He also displayed a proficiency from the free throw line, going 14-for-18 for 78%.
The A-Town Tornado Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Cayden Mahr. Cayden put together four nice games at the Orion 10 & 32 Tip-Off Classic to get his season started. He averaged 14.5 points per game last week, including exploding for 25 points against Mercer County in a Tornadoes overtime win.
The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week, presented by Toyota is senior boys basketball player, Keith Cunningham. Keith was named to the Galesburg Thanksgiving All-Tournament Team for his play on the court during the Silver Streak’s run to a share of the tournament title. He averaged nearly 17 points during his team’s four games, including a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds in a win against Sacred Heart-Griffin.
