Local Police Take Children Shopping

Share

Monmouth’s Fraternal Order Of Police along with the Warren County Auxiliary Police took dozens of children to Walmart on Sunday.

This program was started in the early 2000s as a way for local law enforcement to give back to local families and to thank them for their support. The program takes local, underprivileged children on a shopping spree to celebrate the holidays. Children are allowed to pick out various toys which are then purchased using monetary donations from local businesses and individuals.

“It truly is great to give back to the community that supports us. We also want to thank the many sponsors who support this event. Without our sponsors, this program would not be possible. Seeing the kids smile as they get a toy is a great holiday present for us as well.” Said Officer Larry Myers, who has been with the program since its start.

The F.O.P. plans to continue this tradition for years to come.
