1– Presentations Or Citizen Inquiries
No presentations were made this evening.

2- MFD Monthly Report – Chief Rexroat
• Firefighters conducted EMS training for the treatment of poisoning, animal bites and insect stings.
• The department participated in Sunny 97.7’s annual Freezing For Food event. This event collects various donations which benefit local food pantries and is held in Save-A-Lot’s parking lot.
• A water line inside one of the walls of the kitchen at Station II was found to be leaking and was repaired by Advanced Plumbing. Due to the cinder block construction of the building, the repair was challenging but was able to be completed successfully.
• Tower 22 remains at Alexis Fire Equipment for repair to the ladder pulley system.

The department had 103 calls for service in December and finished out 2018 with 1288 total calls for service.

3- MPD Monthly Report – Chief Switzer
• MPD officers seized 12.5 grams of cannabis, a small amount of suspected controlled substance along with $2286 in cash during an investigation for Retail Theft
• While the Warren County Jail was temporarily shut down, MPD Officers transported 111 persons to the Mercer County Jail.
• Officer Lindsey Kenney completed her probationary period on January 7th. Kenney has become a welcome addition to the department and has demonstrated herself to be a good fit for the community. • The Fraternal Order Of Police conducted their annual Cops and Kids event. The program takes local, underprivileged children on a shopping spree to celebrate the holidays. Children are allowed to pick out various toys which are then purchased using monetary donations from local businesses and individuals.

The department had 1187 calls for service in December and finished out 2018 with 16241 total calls for service.

4- Mayoral Appointments
3 positions are up for an appointment for tonight.
• Brenda Boydstun (re-appointment) – Affirmative Action Officer
• Susan Trevor (re-appointment) – FOIA Officer
• Dennis Rhoades (re-appointment) – 3-year appointment to the Zoning Board Of Appeals

A motion for approval of the appointments was made and was approved.

5- Funding for traffic Signal Improvement – 185th Street and 87th Street
The Illinois Department Of Transportation has announced that they will be resurfacing the section of highway which passes around Monmouth. As part of a long term, cost-sharing agreement with the State, Monmouth is obligated to commit funds for the maintenance and improvement of the traffic signals.
• 4 traffic signals are located within the improvement project area.
• The affected signals are at North 11th, North 6th, North Main and West Broadway.
• No new traffic signals are being added at this time.

The City’s cost share is $15,870 and will likely be paid for with restricted use, motor fuel tax revenue. A motion for approval of the resolution was made and was approved.

6- Ordinances
A. 19-004, Annexing Certain Territory
This ordinance is a housekeeping item. Upon review of documentation during a digitization initiative, it became apparent that a portion of the Monmouth Municipal Airport was never added to the official city limit records. The ordinance officially annexes the property into City limits and will allow for consistency across all organizational records.

A motion for approval was made and was approved.

7- Executive Session No executive session was held.

8- Other business No other business was discussed.
