The Knox County Area Partnership for Economic Development is starting class sign-ups 2019 Knox County CEO program which begins February 1st. Ken Springer, President of the organization, describes the program in more detail:
“It’s an innovative, out-of-classroom, entrepreneurial experience for high school seniors and juniors. Instead of going to their first hour, CEO students tour area businesses, they learn business concepts from area professionals, and each student launches his or her own money-making, for profit business by the end of the school year. Our existing CEO class will be going to Knox County area schools, give presentations, and to get kids excited about signing up,” states Springer.
Applications are required for the program. Visit the Knox County Area Economic Development website at http://knoxcountyilceo.com.
Springer also announced the organization will be hosting their Annual Leadership Breakfast on February 12th at 7:45am at Cedar Creek Hall. Springer had more details:
“It’s an event that’s going to be of interest to all the business owners, political leaders, and really anyone interested in the future of the region’s economy. Colby Tanner, Assistant Vice President of Economic Development of BNSF Railways is our keynote speaker… Colby is really a big time economic development industry person who has worked on projects all across the United States, so we’re really excited to bring Colby in to speak,” Springer shares.
The breakfast is free of charge and those interested can RSVP by calling (309) 343-1194.
