Spring is here and the 2019 planting season is right around the corner. Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau President Jared Kunkle offers a field condition update:
“As far as an early planting, it is highly unlikely. We would have to have a drastic difference in temperatures, get some sun and less precipitation. There is a lot of field work to be done that we got cut off last fall. Occasionally we will get a chance in February and March, to get out there and get some of the work done. There has been a little bit of ammonia anhydrous going on field by field and also some dry fertilizer being put on as well,” Kunkle states.
The Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau will be hosting their annual Ag in a Day two day institute for area teachers on June 11th and 12th. Manager Gina Long has the details:
“Essentially what we do is have two full days of different lesson agricultural topics that we teach to our teachers. They will receive some CPD teaching credits. We try to make the days pretty fun and cover some topics they might not know about and hopefully they can incorporate the topics into their classrooms,” shares Long.
Each day will be capped at 30 teachers to attend. Registration will close May 10th.
The Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau will be hosting a Community Breakfast on Saturday, June 15th from 7 to 10am at the Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau building in Monmouth.
