Bob Rundle, 67, of Kankakee, IL, passed away at 3:00 p.m., Friday, April 26, 2019 at the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital, Hines, IL. 

He was born on June 15, 1951 in Macomb, IL, the son of John R. and Madelyn E. (McCullum) Rundle.  Bob was raised and educated in Colchester, IL and graduated from Yorkwood High School in 1969. 

Bob served in the United States Air Force for 19 years.

He married Mary Varboncoeur on February 27, 1973 in Paxton, IL; she survives. 

After retiring from the Air Force, Bob worked as a mental health technician at Riverside and later as a CNA at Kankakee Terrace.  He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed reading and watching sports.  Bob and his wife loved to travel and show their American Pitbull Terrier’s. 

Surviving Bob is his wife, Mary Rundle of Kankakee, IL; one sister, LouAnn Cavanaugh of Monmouth, IL; four brothers, Steve (Melanie) Rundle of California, Bruce (Sherry) Rundle of Monmouth, IL, Jamie (Gloria) Rundle of Galesburg, IL, Joe (Nancy) Rundle of Oneida, IL; brothers-in-law, Barry Free of Little York, IL, Jeep Varboncoeur of St. Anne, IL, Dean (Rhonda) Lareau of Kankakee, IL, Martin (Carol) Lareau of Beaverville, IL; sister-in-law, Joanne Lareau-Arseneau of Beaverville, IL; several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Cheryl Free; brothers-in-law, Mark Cavanaugh, Jack Lareau; sisters-in-law, Gloria Varboncoeur, Peggy Ingalls, and Janet Williams. 

A Memorial Mass will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Church, Monmouth.  Interment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL at a later date.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Fisher House Foundation.   McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth is in charge of the arrangements.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com.
