Dolores L. Cox, 88, of Galesburg, died at 5:47 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2019, in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

She was born November 7, 1930, in Galesburg, the daughter of Jerome T. and Irene (Kitron) Little.  She married Maurice E. Cox on March 21, 1975, in Bloomington, Illinois.  He preceded her in death February 28, 2000.

She is survived by a step son, David M. (Patricia) Cox of Huntersville, North Carolina; a step daughter, Janis M. Butts of Pittsford, New York; four grandchildren, Rodrick (Deborah) Cox, Douglas (Brandy) Cox, Renee (Tom) Brawn, and Thomas Butts; seven great grandchildren, Gavin, Colton, Grayson, Tyler, Dylan, Ashley, and Adam; a niece, Ann (Terry) Seliga of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and a great niece, Emily Seliga.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce L. Hinchliff.

Dolores was a secretary at Bixby-Zimmer Engineering Company for 33 years, retiring in 1985.  She was a life-long Galesburg resident who graduated from Galesburg High School in 1948.  She also attended Brown’s Business College and Knox College.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2019 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel.  Private family graveside service will be Saturday, April 27, 2019 in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Knox County Humane Society, The Y’s Kid Care Station, or a charity of the donor’s choice.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
