Floyd “Clark” Shelton, 80, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 5:30 A.M. at his home in Galesburg.

Clark was born September 12, 1938 in Galesburg, the son of Floyd C. and Gertrude (Park) Shelton Sr. He was a graduate of Abingdon High School and Knox College. Clark proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He later worked for the United States Postal Service for many years, until his retirement. Clark married Betty Ann Hull in Knoxville on May 4, 1986.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Ann Shelton of Galesburg; 4 children, Susan (John) Olson of Galesburg, Becky Lavely of Galesburg, Chris (Pat) Lavely of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Marsha (Thomas) Dean of Knoxville; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and 2 siblings, Richard (Mel) Shelton of Sun City, Arizona, and Sue (Rick) Dechow of Abingdon.

Clark was preceded in death by his parents.

He was interested in all of life’s happenings. A quote from his grandson, Zack Dean, “He crossed Chuck Norris”.

A celebration of life will be held Monday, May 20, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Knoxville American Legion. Memorial contributions may be left to the family.
