The Knox County Area Partnership of Economic Development is hosting the Our Economy Update Luncheon on Friday, May 17.
The event, which will take place from 11:30 am to 1 pm, costs $20 a ticket to attend and is open to the public. President of KCAP Ken Springer, gives us details about what to expect at the luncheon.

“It’s something we created in 2019 with Prairie Radio [Communications]. It’s designed to provide analysis and the latest economic data for the Knox and Warren County region.

In addition, we’re going to have a panel of top education leaders from around the region who are going to discuss really important topics in education that will include leaders from Knox, Carl Sandburg, and Monmouth Colleges; Western Illinois University; Galesburg K-12 district; and the Delabar Regional Career and Technical Education System.”

KCAP will also be hosting the By Entrepreneurs for Entrepreneurs on Thursday, May 16 at Market Alley Wines in Monmouth from 5:30 pm to 7 pm.
Springer gives us the details on the event, which he says is similar to an event held in January that had “excellent” turnout.

“It’s a pure networking event. It’s a chance for entrepreneurs in the region to meet up and discuss issues with each other. It’s a free event and it’s open to entrepreneurs of any experience level…. The whole point of it is to get a bunch of entrepreneurs in the same room together and let them talk.”

For those interested in attending the events can call the KCAP office at (309) 343-1194.
