Mrs. Marie Arline Hannam, 93, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away at 2:57 pm Monday, May 27, 2019 at Seminary Manor Nursing Home.

She was born May 25, 1926 in Rural Appleton, Illinois the daughter of Alva and Imo Saline England. She married Dale W. “Shorty” Hannam on January 7, 1947 in Knoxville, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 26, 1990.

Marie is survived by her children, Rolland R. (Judy) Hannam and Carol (Dennis) Uhlmann both of Galesburg; her sister-in-law, Jean England of Maquon, Illinois; three grandchildren, Deanna (Jeff) Wauer of Columbus, Indiana, Jeffrey (Kelly) Hannam of Alexis, Illinois and Bradley (Dr. Ami) Hannam of Naperville, Illinois; five great grandchildren, Landon, Emerson, Grayson, Alexander and Olivia Hannam, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother, Harland England and one granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Hannam. 

Marie began working for the Williamsfield Elevator. She later worked at the Knox County Assessment office and for Hannam’s Auction Service for many years. She attended the First United Methodist Church and graduated from Williamsfield High school in 1944. Marie enjoyed sewing, gardening and tending to her flowers. To her family she was an amazing baker, requesting her famous apple pie, cookies and fudge at Christmas time. Marie’s favorite pastime was spending time with all her family.

Funeral services are scheduled for Noon, Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Vince Rohn officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00-Noon Saturday at the chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or to Maxey Chapel, Dahinda.
