Peggy Ann Eckley, age 83, of Oquawka, Illinois; passed away at 7:30 am
on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at her home in Oquawka, Illinois. Peg was
born on April 29, 1935 in Chanute, Kansas and is the daughter of M. Clem
and Edna Alice Endsley Keller. She was raised in Chanute, Kansas until
the family moved to California during World War II where she was until
the eighth grade. In 1946 the family moved to Illinois and she graduated
from Monmouth High School with the class of 1953. During her senior
year, Peg stayed in Monmouth and lived with the Del Koke family. Peggy
married John F. Eckley on June 6, 1954 in Allen County in Kansas. Peg
was employed, acting as a secretary for her husband, John, for seventeen
years while he worked for Science Research Associates. She is a loving
mother and homemaker to her husband and children and is an avid Cubs
baseball fan. She very much enjoyed going out on the river. She is
survived by her husband, John of Oquawka, Illinois and four sons, John D
Eckley (Toni) of Bloomington, IL; George K. Eckley (Tina) of Cordova
Alaska; Stephen T. Eckley (Debbie) of Oquawka, IL; and Robert R. Eckley
(Deb) of Cordova, Alaska; and one daughter, Patricia A. Cook (Terry) of
Monmouth, Illinois. There are nine grandchildren and seven great
grandchildren. She is preceded in her death by her parents and one
brother Tommy Keller.

As per her wishes, Peg was cremated, and a gathering of her family and
friends is currently planned for April 19, 2019 beginning at 10:00 am at
Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois. A memorial fund is being
established for the Delabar Mississippi River Youth Park. To leave a
