Ralph L. “Rudy” Winkler, 91, of Alexis, IL, passed away at 3:20 am, Sunday, April 14, 2019 at his home.

Rudy was born March 22, 1928 in Casnovia, Woodford County, IL, the son of David Sr. and Rosalie (Kerker) Winkler.  He was raised and educated in Alexis and graduated from Alexis High School in 1946. 

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. 

Rudy married Lois L. Toland on February 8, 1953 in Galesburg, IL and she passed away on March 24, 2007.

Rudy farmed all of his life, retiring in 1993.  He was a member of the Alexis Presbyterian Church and the Viola Masonic Lodge.   Rudy enjoyed working and visiting Jigg’s.

Survivors include his children; Tricia Johnson of Annapolis, MD; Stacey (Ken) Clark of Argyle, TX and Kelly (Dr. Jim) Semrau of Racine, WI and Todd Winkler of Alexis, IL; 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; son-in-law, Gary Boelkes of Knoxville, IL; and his caregiver, Leslie Morrell of New Boston, IL. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter, Kimberly Boelkes; 8 brothers, Richard William Winkler, Floyd Winker, Emerson Winkler, Clyde Winkler, Solomon Winkler, Everett “Chalk” Winkler, Raymond Winkler and David Winkler, Jr.; 3 sisters, Verna Margaret Harmon, Irene Horton and Esther M. Moore

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 25, 2019 at the Alexis Presbyterian Church.  Interment with Military Honors will be in Alexis Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the Alexis Fieldhouse, Alexis.  Memorials can be made to the Alexis Presbyterian Church of Avenue of the Flags, Alexis.
