Terry A. “Smiley” Hale, 65, of Monmouth, IL passed away at 12:33 am, Sunday, May 26, 2019 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.

Smiley was born July 15, 1953 in Monmouth, IL, the son of Charles H. and L. Maxine (Salmons) Hale.  He attended school in the Yorkwood District.

Smiley started working for Munson Trucking as a teenager and worked there for many years.  He later started his own business, Smiley’s Towing and Auto Repair, which he owned until his passing.  Smiley lived with COPD from September 2008 until his passing.  He loved his St. Bernards; Bruno I , II and III

He is survived by his parents; his brother Ron Hale and his sister, Lori (Steve) Feyerabend all of Mesa, AZ; 2 nephews, Michael Hale, Jr and Dustin Maguire.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and one brother, Mike “Flash” Hale. At Smiley’s request, cremation has been accorded.  No services are planned.  Memorials may be given to Warren Achievement or Western Illinois Animal Rescue, both in Monmouth.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
