Glenda Corrine (Smith) Wyatt, 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 28, 2019 after a long fight with Alzheimer’s.

She was born October 10, 1937 in Galesburg, IL to the late Lorene and Glenwood Smith.

Glenda is survived by her three children and their spouses Kelly Wyatt-Bisciotti and Steve Parrish, Doug Wyatt, Tonya and T.J. Kurkey; grandchildren, Zoe Bouseman and Wyatt Kurkey; siblings and their spouses, Jarice and Jack Lynch, Mick and Vicki Smith, Gary and Dee Smith.

Glenda was predeceased by her brother David Smith and sister Cherie Segerman. All of whom she loved and touched deeply.

Early in her life she worked for Bell Phone Company as a switchboard operator. Once her children were born she lived a full life as a dedicated mother, homemaker, hospital volunteer, and devoted friend. She kept an immaculate house, rarely uttered an unkind word, was full of grace and could turn half dead twigs into lush green plants.

Glenda enjoyed music, painting, reading books, soaking up the sun and spending time at the beach. Most of all she loved her family and instilled in her children strong values, never dismissed them for their mistakes, and taught them the value of kindness.

Friends and family are welcome to attend visitation on Monday, July 1, 2019, between 10:00am and 12:00pm at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services, Galesburg chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your local Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association (Alz.org).

She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
