Mrs. Marcella L. Adams, 89, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away at 1:33 pm Monday, June 24, 2019 at Knox County Nursing Home.

She was born January 5, 1930 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Frank D. and Rosella Lee Greenwood. She married Norman Adams, Jr. in Alexis, Illinois on September 3, 1949. He preceded her in death on December 6, 2003.

Surviving are her children, Dennis (Patty) Adams of Fishers, Indiana, Mike (Cassie) Adams of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kathleen (Steve) Wilson, Mary Adams and Mark Adams all of Galesburg; two brothers, Leonard (Ilene) Greenwood of Coralville, Iowa and Jerry Greenwood of Ft. Myers, Florida; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Patrick; her daughter-in-law, Anna Griffith-Adams and her brother and sister-in-law, Bernard and Jean Greenwood.

Marcella worked for Maytag Corporation, retiring in 1992. She was raised in Alexis and graduated from Corpus Christi Catholic High School in 1949. She was of the Catholic faith. She love camping and traveling. Marcella and her husband had traveled to many places, including Alaska, Germany, Colorado, Wyoming and Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Rev. James Ecklund will officiate. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at the chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com
