Richard L. Reynolds, 78, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 7: 20 am, Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the Roseville Rehab and Health Care Center, Roseville, IL.

Richard was born June 18, 1940 in Kirkwood, IL the son of Glenn Dale and Mable Victoria (Peterson) Reynolds.  He was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School in 1958.

Richard married Loretta J. Haptonstall in Canton, MO on January 12, 1965 and she survives.

Richard worked for the Monmouth Post Office as a postal carrier for 32 years before retiring. He also worked at Barnes Grocery for a number of years.  He later worked as a custodian at Central Junior Highs School for 10 years and the Lutheran Day Care Center.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Monmouth.  He enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles, fishing, going to tractor pulls with his brother and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta Reynolds of Monmouth; his son, Dale (Jacinta) Reynolds of Wisconsin; his daughter, Debbie (Brad) Bushong of Kirkwood, IL; 8 grandchildren, Amy (Jeremy) Damewood, Amanda Reynolds, Ryan Reynolds, Jessica Havelock, Justin Havelock, Alison Forsman, Anthony Forsman and Nena Forsman; 13 great grandchildren and his brother, Don Reynolds of Monmouth, IL.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Craig Havelock.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday, June 13, 2019 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth.  Interment will be in Stronghurst Cemetery, Stronghurst, IL.  Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at the funeral home.  Memorials may be given to the First Lutheran Church of Monmouth.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com.
