2019 Henderson County Queens Have Been Crowned

This week, the Miss Henderson County fair queens were named on Sunday, July 21st at the Raritan Opera House.

Abby Dowell was named Miss Henderson County, Hanna Carnes was named Jr Miss Henderson County, and Islia Rodeffer was named Little Miss Henderson County.

Outgoing queen, Kaitlyn Caine had advice to any future Henderson County Fair queens.

“Even if you don’t think you’re a girly girl or a girl who wears dresses or its not your thing, it’s definitely the place to learn to public speak and get comfortable on stage and in front of other people, have fun, and make a bunch of friends while you do it.”

For incoming Miss Henderson County, Abbey Dowell the pageant was all about staying calm and having fun.

When asked how she stays calm, Abby had some advice to future Henderson County pageant contestants as well.

“Just take deep breaths, because that’s all you can really do. It’s all about the fun of the day.”

To Jr Miss Henderson County, Hannah Carnes, the pageant wasn’t just about the attention and competition. When asked about her favorite part of the day, she responded:

“Being able to do my speech, and being able to get to know Eileeya and Abbey and being able to spend time at pageants and parades and fairs.”

Though she may be passing the crown to someone else, Kaitlyn Caine plans to go on with her agricultural background she learned Henderson county to get a degree in Agricultural Science at Western Illinois University this fall.
