Six American Legion baseball teams will descend upon Barrington, Illinois this weekend for the Department of Illinois State Tournament. Rock Island will represent Division 3. Post 200 has an overall record of (21-9-1) and have ran off seven straight wins since dropping their first postseason game 3-2 to Monmouth. They will take on (32-5-1) 2nd Division champ Elgin Post 57 at 1:00 tomorrow afternoon at Kirby Smith Field in Barrington. The tournament is double elimination format ending on Tuesday. Other teams taking part in the tourney this weekend are Wheaton Post 76 (22-10), Danville Post 210 (27-6), Steeleville Post 480 (15-5) and the hosts, Barrington Post 158 (31-10-2). The winner of the state tournament moves on to the Great Lakes Regional beginning on August 7th in Charleston, Illinois.
