WHERE: IL Rt. 95 @ CR 2250 E., Mound Township, McDonough County

WHEN: 07/27/2019 10:57 p.m.

VEHICLES: UNIT 1: 2003 Dodge Ram
UNIT 2: 2015 Chrysler 200

DRIVERS: UNIT 1: James G. Waters, Male, age 49, of Adair, IL
UNIT 2: Jesse A. Hamm, Male, age 25, of St. David, IL

PASSENGERS: UNIT 1: N/A
UNIT 2: Cynthia M. Payne, 46 of Bushnell,

Kelsey A. Hamm, 21 of Bardolph

SEATBELTS: UNIT 1: No
UNIT 2: Yes

CAUSE: Disobeyed Stop Sign

CONDITIONS: Clear and Dry

PRELIMINARY: On 7/27/19 at approximately 10:57 p.m. Unit 1 was traveling south on CR 2250 E. The driver of Unit 1 failed to stop at the intersection of CR 2250 E. and IL Rt 95 and was struck in the driver’s side by Unit 2 which was traveling west. The driver of Unit 1 was flown from the scene by Life Flight with serious injuries. The Driver and passengers of Unit 2 were taken to McDonough District Hospital.
