Zoning Permits Being Enforced by Monmouth City Council

Non-permitted construction work is starting to become an issue in Monmouth.

This is according to Community Engagement Director for the Monmouth City Council Ken Helms, who says the number of work without appropriate permits has increased.

Helms explains why non-permitted work is an issue and says the issue is being addressed.

“That presents a problem for a number of reasons. It’s not being inspected for building code, so on and so forth. So, they [ the Monmouth zoning department] have begun to address that by increased enforcement on the weekends, that kind of stuff.”

Helms says the work is typically performed by roofers on the weekends.
