Charles C. “Chuck” Richardson, 73, of Galesburg, died at 4 p.m. Wednesday, August 14,2019 at home.

Chuck was born April 7, 1946 in Davenport, IA the son of Chester Charles and Frances Gertrude (Franklin) Richardson.  Chuck married Janet Sue Rice on November 16, 1968 in Cameron.  She survives.  Chuck is also survived by three sons, Brad Richardson of the Netherlands, Matt (Julie) Richardson of Tucson, AZ, and Nick Richardson of Phoenix, AZ; one daughter, Amy (Luis) Castro of Dickinson, TX; Four grandchildren, Shealeigh and Sawyer Marshall, Sara and Sydney Richardson; and three great grandchildren, Carley, Amelia, and Luis Castro.  Chuck is also survived by one sister, Peggy Richardson.  Along with his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by one brother, David Richardson. 

Chuck served in the US Navy from 1967 to 1971 in Vietnam aboard the USS Diamond Head.  Chuck and Janet were saved in 1976, leading Chuck to a long career in ministry.  He pastored numerous churches throughout the southwest and overseas.  He and Janet also owned and operated Richardson’s LLC from 2002-2013 in Arizona prior to moving back to Galesburg in 2013.  Since returning to Galesburg, Chuck and Janet were active members of Calvary Assembly of God, Church. 

Chuck was an extremely giving person of his time, his knowledge, and financially when necessary.  He truly enjoyed helping other people, a trait he passed on to his children. Chuck instilled his strong work ethic on to his children along with teaching them valuable skills such as framing, drywalling, and woodworking.  He always had some sort of project going on.  He also was passionate about guns and an avid sci-fi fan, especially Star Trek. 

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Calvary Assembly of God, Church.  Memorials may be made to his church.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com
