City of Monmouth Amends Sidewalk Café Ordinance

Share

The City of Monmouth is considering amending the Sidewalk Café Ordinance.

Local businesses have sought to amend the ordinance to allow some liquor license establishments to serve food and beverages to outside lounges belonging to the business.

According to the City’s current plans for the Amendment, these establishments would be able to serve in these outside lounges, so long as they do so between the specified hours of noon and 7:00 pm.

Monmouth Community Engagement Director, Ken Helms explained what the City Council planned to do next.

“The council provided the staff with some direction, in terms of allowing sidewalk cafes, but they would have limited hours. They could apply for a sidewalk café permit, provided that the time limits for that would be between 12 noon and 7 pm.”
