As of July 15th, Jackie Kernan, RN, MSN, and Kewanee local, has been named President of OSF Holy Family Medical Center.
Jackie Kernan holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of St. Francis, and a Master of Science in nursing management leadership from Saint Francis College of Nursing.
Kernan has previously worked as president and Surgical Service Director of St. Luke’s in Kewanee, Illinois, and has over a decade of experience in the field, as well as experience as an operating room nurse for over 20 years.
Kernan explains what inspired her to take the job.
“My dad always said ‘well why don’t you be chief nursing officer’ and I’m like, you know, I’m happy doing what I’m doing, but I always felt that I could offer more, and I wanted to see others really grow. That’s one of my passions, is being able to mentor others and see that they can do it just as well, and just inspiring them to grow.”
