John Phillip Kreigh

April 27, 1931 – July 20, 2019

In memory of a life well lived…

Phil, as he was known to his family and friends, was the son of Ellen Mastin and John M. Kreigh. Born in Knoxville, Illinois, he grew up on the family farm in Galesburg. He was a proud veteran of the Korean War, honorably serving in the Army from 1950 to 1953. He earned an accounting degree from Brown’s Business College and began working for Outboard Marine Corporation International out of Galesburg. He was hard working, with a great work ethic. This allowed him to advance to Senior Accounting Clerk before transferring to OMC marketing division for Latin America in Miami. He remained General Accounting Manager until he retired. However, Phil did not forget his Illinois roots. He would often visit friends and family whether in Galesburg and the surrounding areas, or even other places across the country. He loved to travel and experience new locations. He enjoyed taking pictures and would frequently send photos of something unique or interesting. He was also a proud father and grandfather. He was very supportive of his daughters’ educations, taking great pride in attending graduation ceremonies. He is survived by his two daughters, Tania and Lydia, his grandchildren, and his nephew, William. He was interred at Knoxville Cemetery aside his parents on Friday, August 16, 2019. He was a great friend to all and will be missed!
