Local Churches Set to Serve Monmouth Community

Share

Community Care Days is set to take place Friday September 20th and Saturday September 21st in the Monmouth Community. In its tenth year, the event has grown from just two churches to eleven helping out in the community. For those who may be unfamiliar with the event, Marsha Parrish, a helper herself, explains the process:

“Community Care Days is a group of volunteers from our town that go around and do things to help out people who own their own home, who are maybe unable to do the work themselves, or maybe unable to pay to have the work done, hire to have the work done. We do this through an application process. If people have things like yard work, light carpentry, painting, or other things that they need done, they can apply to have it done through Community Cares,” states Parrish.

Applications can be found at all area churches, Jamieson Community Center, and Strom Center.

Applications must be submitted by Sunday, September 1st.

For more information, contact Marsha Parrish at 309-221-7907.
