MFD Respond to Structure Fire

On Monday, August 5th, 2019 at 13:46 the Monmouth Fire Department responded to 402 East 11th Avenue in Monmouth, IL for a report of a residential structure fire. Upon arrival at the incident, the firefighters found the fire involved two structures on the property. Firefighters performed a search of the structures and did not find any human or animal occupants in the structures. Although the fire was brought under control quickly, the fire caused significant damage to an outbuilding and moderate damage to the residence.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

No occupants or first responders were injured during the incident.

Other agencies who responded to help with the incident were the Cameron and Kirkwood Fire Departments, the Monmouth Police Department, Galesburg Hospital Ambulance Service, and the American Red Cross.
