United Sports Boosters Announce New Fundraising Initiative

Share

The United Sports Boosters has announced the inception of the ‘First Annual United All-Sports Tailgate’ fundraiser.

The fundraiser, run by the United Sports Boosters, will be held on Saturday, September 14th at 5:00 pm at the Monmouth VFW.

Attendees will be given two complimentary meals and beverages, and are invited to stay and listen to music provided by the event starting at 8:00 pm.

Prizes will be given to event attendees as well, ten winners will receive $100 cash prizes, with the grand prize being a chance to win up to $5,000.

The funds raised by the event will be going to building a new seven-lane, all-weather, track for the United School district. Currently, the only track owned by the United School district does not meet the standards of use for track meets or practice, so students are forced to practice elsewhere.

Debby King, United Sports Booster Co-President, talks more about the state of the track program, and how a new track would benefit the district…

“The kids are practicing in the gym, they’re running outside, or maybe coming in at at Sunny Lane practicing. We did have some athletes make it to state this year, and so with this new track it would benefit them, and with the program growing, more kids are going out for track, and it’s going to be a positive thing.”

Tickets for the United ‘All-Sports Tailgate’ start at $100, and can be bought at any United district school. For more, listen to our podcast below.
