Freda J. Deford, 66, of Monmouth, IL passed away at 3:37 am, Thursday, September 26, 2019 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL.

Freda was born June 23, 1953 in Monmouth, IL the daughter of Robert L. and Bessie L. (Starkey) Garner.  She was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School in 1971.

Freda married Ronald E. DeFord at the First Christian Church in Monmouth on March 2, 1972 and he survives.

Freda assisted in the office of her husband’s ceramic business and shade tree mechanics business for 11 years where she oversaw Ronald’s financial affairs.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, working with ceramics and other crafts.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald E DeFord; her son Ronnie DeFord; sisters, Barbara Farrington  and Kim Nichols all of Monmouth; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lilly Ross; nephew, Dale Brock; and niece, Melanie Garner.

Celebration of Life services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, September 29, 2019 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth.  Visitation will be 1:00-3:00 pm Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the funeral home.  Cremation will take place following the services.  Interment will be at Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth at a later date.  Memorials may be given to The Strom Center in Monmouth.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com
