Hemp Field Day Being Held Monday

Share

Farmer Andy Huston and the University of Illinois Ag Extension are hosting a very unique field day today.

The crop on display is hemp, specifically hemp used to produce CBD. According to Commercial Ag Extension Coordinator for the University of Illinois Dr. Chelsea Harbach, the field day has received “regional and national” attention.

Dr. Harbach detailed the agenda of the field day:

“Andy’s going to be walking us through his field. He’s got different cultivars of hemp that he’s planted and different methods and even some cultivars he’s developed himself. So, we’re going to give everyone an opportunity to have a hands-on experience for the potential for hemp growing.”

The field day starts at 9:30 Monday morning.
