The 5th Annual BaconFest will be held Saturday September 28th in downtown Monmouth, starting at 4pm until 8:30. Several vendors will have a variety of bacon themed foods to sample, music will be provided by Soul Storm, and the famous bacon eating contest will take place at 7pm. Amy Patterson, Executive Director of the Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce, gives a sample of just some of the delicious foods that will be available:

“Big Bucks Barbecue will have Tater Grenades as their feature item. County Market will have candy maple bacon pecans and some bacon sugar cookies. And I say sample, but most of these will be three dollars per portion. Cupcakes by My is going to have some bacon fired rice. Double D’s Barbecue, they are another veteran from BaconFest, will have some bacon wrapped pork loins. Fareway is going to be there this year and they will also have a bacon wrapped loin available, a bacon cheddar brat, and then they will also have Italian stuffed mushroom wrapped in bacon, grilled in barbecue sauce,” Patterson shares.

The square will be shutdown at noon on Saturday to allow vendors to begin setting up.

BaconFest will take place rain or shine.
