Monmouth took no prisoners at Glennie Gym Tuesday night, rolling past Blackburn College 3-0, taking Sets 1 and 3 by 25-13 scores. In between, the Scots outlasted the Beavers 25-22.

The Scots trailed early in the first set, but ran off eight straight points with Loryn Beal serving to take a commanding 16-8 lead. The Scots then cruised to the opening set win and had to battle back again in the second set when the Beavers stayed within three points the entire way. Monmouth used a late run in the final set to take a 20-12 lead, scoring the final point on Beal’s fifth service ace of the night. Riley Cook slammed a team-high eight kills for Monmouth, two more than Lauren Sperry and Ashley Farris.

Monmouth travels to Dominican Saturday for a 6 p.m. contest.
