Monmouth moved to 3-3 in Midwest Conference play, one spot out of a potential MWC Tournament berth with Tuesday’s 5-4 win at Illinois College.

Rachael Leifheit and Alison Bowman stretched their win streak at No. 2 doubles to a program record-tying six straight with an 8-6 win. The Scots came out of doubles play up 2-1 after Emily Laughlin and Emily Henson at No. 3 also won 8-6.

Leifheit, Bowman and Isabel Hammond put Monmouth over the top, taking three singles wins. Leifheit rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3 while Bowman as a 6-, 6-0 winner at No. 5. Hammond played to a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 6.

Monmouth travels to Fontbonne for a nonconference matchup on Saturday before meeting MWC rival Knox next Wednesday.
