Mrs. Peggy L. Edwards, 66, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away peacefully at 6:52 pm Friday, September 20, 2019 at Marigold Health Care Center.

Peggy was born February 28, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of William L. and Frances Lucille (Upton) Crider. She married Floyd C. Landrey in Norwalk, California on March 7, 2007. He preceded her in death on October 29, 2014.

Peggy is survived by her brother, Bernard William Upton of Peoria, Illinois; her two sisters, Mary Ellen (the late Delbur) McKee of Galesburg and Carrie Crider of Rock Island, Illinois; one nephew Henry C. Crider of Galesburg; three great nephews and three great nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Peggy owned and operated several rental properties in the area and had worked for Hy-Vee in the kitchen for several years. She received her GED and later took classes at Carl Sandburg College for cosmetology and accounting. Peggy enjoyed making stain glass pieces and arranging florals. She was a member of First Lutheran Church. Peggy and her husband Floyd lived in British Columbia for over 8 years until his death in 2014. Peggy was known as an all-around handyman, if she couldn’t fix something she would always give it try whether right or wrong.

Memorial Services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, September 27, 2019 at First Lutheran Church with Rev. Pamela Marolla officiating. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 pm Friday at the church. Cremation will be accorded. Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com
