September is Life Insurance Awareness Month

Share

According to to a 2018 MarketWatch survey, only 59% of Americans have life insurance policies. This month gives insurance agents the opportunity to educate their clients and potential clients about the benefits of life insurance.

There are two basic forms of life insurance that most owners have, term life or whole life. Term life insurance provides coverage at a fixed payment rate for a limited period of time. After this period of time is up, clients will have to obtain further coverage under a different plan. On the other hand, whole life insurance covers the client for their entire lifetime as long as their premiums are paid, with premiums at a fixed rate throughout.

Insurance representatives recommend meeting with your provider on an annual basis to determine if clients needs are being met, and to ensure that their beneficiaries are in place.

Tiffany Cole, a Country Financial representative in Monmouth, gives insight on why life insurance can benefit anyone…

“You know, whether you’re single, you’re married, you have children, you’re retired, no matter what phase of life that you’re in, there’s generally always a need for life insurance, and we basically say, if someone will financially suffer at your passing, then you have a need for life insurance.”
