3 Vehicles Involved in Crash Outside Monmouth

According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Department, a three vehicle collision took place at the intersection of 90th Street and 180th Ave, east of Monmouth on Thursday, October 9th.   A westbound car was stopped to wait for another vehicle to make a turn.  A westbound semi pulling a grain trailer came upon the stopped car, attempted to brake, and swerved into the on coming traffic lane, striking an east bound SUV head on.  The SUV bounced backwards onto the stopped car. 

The driver of the semi, and two of the SUV occupants were taken to an area hospital.  Another occupant of the SUV was air lifted to a hospital in Peoria. The driver of the car that had been stopped was not injured. The conditions of injured parties is not known, and names of those involved are being withheld at this time. 

The accident is under investigation by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. 

Responders included the Monmouth Fire Department, Monmouth Police Department, Galesburg Hospital Ambulance Service, Central Warren Fire Department, and the Illinois State Police.
