Mr. Arlen R. Mason, 80, of Galesburg, Illinois died 9:03 a.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at his home.
He was born October 6, 1939 in Cuba, Illinois to Harry and Iva (Baldwin) Mason. He married Maureen Essex. He later married Donna Schisler April 17, 1981 in Abingdon, Illinois. She survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Brad Mason of Villa Rica, Georgia, Greg Mason of Canton, Illinois, Troy (and Ila) Mason of Knoxville, Illinois, and Lee Gabbert of Galesburg, a daughter, Kellee Gabbert of Galesburg, two brothers, David (and Naomi) Mason of Maquon, Illinois and Myron Mason of Maquon, ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jim Mason.
Arlen graduated from Valley High School in 1958. He was a supervisor at Butler Manufacturing Company in Galesburg for over 40 years and retired in 2000. He was a member of Maquon Methodist Church. Arlen enjoyed the outdoors and woodworking. He especially love hunting and fishing.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the chapel with Rev. Robert Clark officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral service.
